3. Follow the SP: 46-1988 codes (with first angle projections)
4. Use both sides of the drawing sheet, if required.
5. Missing or mismatching dimensions, if any, may be suitably assumed
6. Diagrams are not to scale. Follow the dimensions only.
Draw neat projections/ views.
Q1 (a) Construct an isometric scale of length 80 mm with subdivisions. (4)
(b) A hexagonal prism of 30 mm side and 60 mm height having its axis perpendicular
to the HP, is placed centrally over a pentagonal slab of 40 mm side and 30 mm height, having
one of its rectangular faces parallel to the VP. Draw the isometric projection of the
combination of solids. Give all dimensions, mark the common axis and indicate the direction
of viewing. (12)
Q2 (a) Draw to scale 1: 1, the standard profile of Knuckle Threads taking the pitch as 40
OR
Q3 (a) Draw to scale 1: 1, the Front View and Top View of a SQUARE NUT (M 24) placed on the HP with
its axis perpendicular to it. (8)
OR
(b) Draw to scale 1: 1, the front view and the side view of a HEXAGONAL HEADED BOLT
having shank diameter 24 mm (M 24) keeping its axis horizontal. (8)
Q4. Given below is the disassembly of a flange pipe joint. Assemble the parts correctly and then draw to scale 1:1 the folowing views:
a). Top Half Sectional Front View of the assembly (10)
b). Left Hand Side View of the assembly (10)
Write Titles, mention scale used, draw the projection symboland give all relevant dimensions.
