Instructions

1. Attempt all questions.

2. All dimensions are in mm.

3. Follow the SP: 46-1988 codes (with first angle projections)

4. Use both sides of the drawing sheet, if required.

5. Missing or mismatching dimensions, if any, may be suitably assumed

6. Diagrams are not to scale. Follow the dimensions only.

7. Draw neat projections/ views.

Q1. Divide a line segment in the ratio 1:2:3 using a compass. (6)

Q2. Draw an Exterior Common Tangent to two circles of radii 30 mm and 40 mm,

having their centres 100 mm apart. (6)

Q3. Make an ellipse with major axis 90 mm and minor axis 60 mm using the

concentric circles method. (6)

Q4. A line AB 40 mm long makes an angle of 30⁰ with the HP and its top view makes

an angle 45⁰ with the VP. Draw its FV and TV. (8)

Q5. A regular Pentagon of side 30 mm has one of its sides nearer to the observer

parallel to the VP and its surface inclined at 30⁰ to the HP. Draw its front view

and top view. (10)

Q6. A cone having diameter 60 mm and height 80 mm is placed on the HP on its

base. It is sectioned by an inclined cutting plane making an angle 45⁰ with the HP

intersecting the axis 30 mm from the top. Draw its FV, Sectioned TV and

True Shape of the Section. (14)

Q7. (a) Draw isometric Scale of length 90 mm with mm sub divisions. (6)

(b) Draw the isometric projection of a pentagonal pyramid of base side 40 mm

and height 70 mm placed on the HP with one of its base sides parallel to

the VP. Mark its axis, show all dimensions, print titles and indicate the

direction of viewing. (14)
